HSI has developed a process to manufacture FEP heat shrink tubing that exhibits 5% or less longitudinal growth at full recovery with a smooth, glass-like finish. Because of the wall thickness at expansion, a rapid shrinkage and heat transfer to the parts being fused may occur during processing. One of the advantages is to assist with the reduction of outgassing due to overheating. In addition to uniform compression that results in a tube's radial direction, the tubing's longitudinal control prompts linear consistency for improvement of finished product yield.
